NYMEX: Crude to open above key resistance
NYMEX April crude oil is called to open 28 cts higher at$22.02/bbl Friday. April
Brent is called to open 34 cts higher at $21.69/bbl. April heating oil is called
to open 65 pts higher at 57.80 cts/gal and April unleaded gasoline is called to
open 89 pts higher at 68.67 cts/gal.

IPE Brent Focus: IPE Brent crude firms on technical buying
The benchmark April futures contract stood at $21.55/bbl at 1038 GMT, 22 cts
above Thursday's settlement, while May traded at $21.45/bbl, 15 cts stronger.
"Brent settled above $21/bbl yesterday. The market traded above $21/bbl the
previous day (Wednesday), but fell below for the close.

ELECTRIC POWER:
Senior EPA official resigns over power-plant policy
Eric Schaeffer, director of the US Environmental Protection Agency's Office of
Regulatory Enforcement, Thursday resigned from the agency, expressing
"frustration" over EPA's enforcement actions against "power companies that have

Nuclear phase-out is possible in Belgium
The Belgium government is nearing a decision on nuclear phase-out, and is likely
to reach a decision on Mar 1, sources close to the deal told Platts.

Georgia takes bids for coal
The state of Georgia is taking bids to supply 18,000 tons of stoker coal, with
an option for an additional 3,000 tons, to the University of Georgia in

Asia Global Crossing warns of large losses; says business plan is no longer
fully funded
For the second time in weeks, Asia Global Crossing Ltd delayed release of its
final fourth quarter and year 2001 results, warning that it expects to take
large losses and that its auditors will likely "express substantial doubt about
the company's ability to continue as a going concern."
