Wow, I am really sorry to hear about your Dad! I know how close you two
were/are. I am so glad you know he is in a better place....its just hard when you miss someone so much. I am so so glad to hear you are loving you job! A great boss makes all the difference ...you were a great boss so its only fair you get one too. I really loved Middle Marketing, it was the most creative and challenging job around and it has a lot of fringe benefits (boone-doggles, etc). I have heard Laura Luce's name quite a bit but I never heard anything personal about her so I am glad to hear she is nice and smart! It surprises me a little bit to hear that Jordan broke his arm, I would expect that it would have been Kendall since he sounds so gregarious and outgoing. I bet it broke your heart to see that! Ouch! I am sorry to hear about Suzy financial situation, I can really relate since I recently took a big hit to my retirement fund and (including Enron Options/stock). Its kinda strange how much security money can give you. Luckily I have been able to keep it in perspective but it has been alittle bit of a ride. Your house will feel new with new paint. New paint just makes everything new. We also just finished a kitchen remodel and I love it. I brought out the big guns and got granite countertops. We also put in recessed lighting (instead of florescent), new crown and base molding, new tile, paint and I added bead-board to my island so that it looks more like a separate piece of furniture. It looks good. Thanks for the heads up on Julie. I had lunch last week with Greg McClendon and told me too. LUNCH, HOW ABOUT FEBRUARY 4TH? I know that seems like a long time away but since the MDO program follows the school year, they are always out! Alex and Conner go to school on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 to 2. Talk to ya soon, J Janet Wallis 8118 Waynemer Way Houston, Texas 77040 (713) 937-0919 ----- Original Message ----- From: <Patrice.L.Mims@enron.com< To: <janet@dtahou.com< Sent: Friday, January 18, 2002 10:32 AM Subject: RE: Hey < Hey Jan, < < So good to hear from you. Yes, I am doing middle market origination with < Laura Luce. I absolutely love it and I love her. She is an awesome boss, < could not have asked for anything better. She has really surpassed all of < my expectations of a great boss. I was extremely happy in the new < position. We'll see how it goes in the future!!!! < < On a sad note, my father passed on December 20th. It is a tremendous loss < for us, but we understand that he's in a much, much better place, and he's < certainly pain free now. It's amazing how I feel about it. I did not < think I would find comfort in his passing, but it was so painful for him, < and it just shows me how much my spiritual faith has grown. I miss him < very much. My mom is doing well. < < The boys are doing great. They certainly area handful. They're funny, < funny, funny. Jordan broke his arm playing on the monkey bars back in < November. The cast is now off and he's doing well, and Kendall, well, he's < just KENDALL in a big way, so cute. < < I like you am about to embark on some painting projects as well. I was < waiting to see how this job situation is going to play out before I really < went out and invested some money. So I would imagine another couple of < days and I'll have something firm one way or the other. I need to repaint < the entire inside and have the front door re-varnished, and possibly even < new carpet or hardwoods. Who knows. < < Julie Gomez goes back into the hospital next Tuesday for more surgery. I < plan to visit her next week. So if you get a chance, call her up and cheer < her up. She'll be in MD Anderson. Suzy Robey is the same, she called < last nite, and I think I mentioned that they moved to Smithtown, New York. < Steven is still looking for work. She's had a pretty rough life, < financially, since she's married him. Give me a call next week and let's < see if we can meet for lunch real soon, before this new company takes off < and we can't go to lunch again. < < Love ya! < < -----Original Message----- < From: "Janet Wallis" <janet@dtahou.com<@ENRON < Sent: Friday, January 18, 2002 8:46 AM < To: Mims, Patrice L. < Subject: Hey < < < How are ya doing?
