I do not care about the appearance. There is no jury. Morris won't care
and will understand why we paid for her to have a lawyer. I do not want
Duke to have a private shot at her.

< I met with Mark Lowes, the lawyer Sanders hired to represent Rebecca
< McDonald. I walked him through the issues in dispute and explained that
< we're not seeking any confidential or privileged information from Rebecca.
< Lowes says he agrees with our position on all issues, including
< transportation, and will work with Rebecca accordingly. He will meet with
< her this afternoon and set up a meeting with us for tomorrow morning.
<
< Rebecca apparently asked Lowes whether it would look bad, either for her
< or for Enron, that Enron was paying for her lawyer. I told Lowes that my
< instinct was the exact opposite. Regardless, he asked us to consider
< asking Duke to split her legal bills with Enron and also giving Duke the
< opportunity to meet with her privately. I told him that I didn't like
< that idea so much but that we'd think about it and get back to him when we
< meet with Rebecca.
